Looking at Joseph StellaРІР‚в„ўs РІР‚СљThe Brooklyn Bridge: Variation on an Old ThemeРІР‚Сњ definitely did not disappoint.Р”Р„rchitectural history is always something that fascinated me and standing in front of StellaРІР‚в„ўs Futurist styled depiction of the Brooklyn Bridge reinforced my love for that aspect of history.

Art looks better here, to my eyes, than it did in the old Whitney, and it is amazingly comfortable to be in. From the light and airy lobby, surrounded by glass, to the Richard Artschwager-designed elevators and from the spacious galleries with extensive views across the Hudson River to the РІР‚ВAll GenderРІР‚в„ў bathrooms, РІР‚Вthe new WhitneyРІР‚в„ў, as frequent museum goers call it, is a museum that works hard for the art it contains, and - fingers crossed - for the visitors who come to see it. Architect Renzo PianoРІР‚в„ўs new building for the Whitney is a winner. While the Whitney Museum of American Art may look like a state-of-the-art sanitation plant from the outside, the inside is anything but. Going into the Whitney with these views fresh in mind is something I would recommend to anyone! And the culture within Chelsea was exactly how I imagined it to be! Everyone dressed so fashionably forward and the overall environment is just so artsy and free-spirited, as opposed to the New York City that most people envision. Watching as the sun set, turning the sky from a blue to a pinkish orange to a black behind the skyscrapers was a breathtaking experience. It completely set my mood for the entire night РІР‚вЂњ being outdoors amongst native New York plants yet still being treated to spectacular views of my beloved city made me immensely thankful to call this gorgeous place my home. Taking a stroll on the High Line before entering the Whitney was perhaps the all time best experience of my life. But together, they create something unlike anything else on Earth: a city where buildings and parks blend together, and a park that is both inside and out.

Remove it, and youРІР‚в„ўd be left with a void. The buildings, like the city, are incomplete without the High Line.
